Matthew Moody, LAC

Matthew is an Arizona-based consultant and licensed counselor celebrated for his extensive experience in crisis systems and 911 to 988 diversion programs. With a profound background in suicide prevention, mobile crisis teams, and crisis mental health spanning over 15 years, he served as the director of the largest non-profit crisis contact center in the United States. There, he managed a wide array of crisis and resource lines, including 988 and 211 centers. Matthew is dedicated to fostering collaboration between law enforcement and crisis intervention, investing over 1,400 hours in 911/PSAPS to establish and support 911 diversion programs in major cities like Phoenix, Calgary, Tucson, and Mesa, collectively diverting over 1,500 calls monthly from 911 centers. As the board president of Mental Health America of Arizona and the proud recipient of the 2022 CITI Communications Specialist of the Year award, Matthew remains devoted to advancing alternate response systems and advocating for mental health. His expertise in crisis management and emergency response optimization is invaluable.


Josh Mozell, J.D.

Josh is a unique attorney with a specialization in mental health, ADA law, involuntary evaluations, and police Special Relationships/liability. He assists families dealing with mental health challenges and substance abuse issues, guiding them through complex legal matters like civil commitment and guardianship. Furthermore, Josh provides crucial counsel to hospitals, behavioral health providers, and clinicians on issues such as capacity, HIPAA, civil commitment, and interaction with law enforcement. His expertise in Special Relationships and ADA law supports police departments in implementing alternate response programs. Josh's dedication to mental healthcare began during his service in Maricopa County's public mental health system and continues with his legal practice. 


Amanda Stamps, MC

Amanda has nearly 24 years of dedicated service at the Mesa Police Department, and possesses a wealth of police experience, notably as the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Program Coordinator. As a Subject Matter Expert, she has trained officers in mental illness awareness and crisis intervention, while also providing expert guidance for civil cases involving mental health issues. Amanda played a pivotal role in establishing the Crisis Response Team, co-responder model, and call diversion programs. Each of these programs were vital in diverting numerous calls to the crisis system. With a strong academic background and ongoing pursuit of a Doctor of Behavioral Health at Arizona State University College of Health Solutions, she is actively involved in NAMI, CIT International, and Mental Health America-Arizona. Recognized as Detective of the Year in 2019, Amanda is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals in crisis and empowering first responders, currently in a prominent role with a non-profit in the private sector while advising behavioral health agencies and first responders. 


Beckie Shauinger

Beckie is a seasoned healthcare executive, currently serving as the Vice President of Operations at Lifepoint Health®. With a master's degree in counseling and a bachelor's degree in psychology, she brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and operational acumen to her role. Beckie oversees a vast portfolio of 11 psychiatric inpatient hospitals and outpatient programs across the United States. Her career is marked by an unwavering commitment to outcome-driven healthcare, deftly balancing care-focused strategic decisions with financial discipline. She possesses a hands-on approach to service leadership, drawing from her extensive experience in hospital start-up and turnaround environments. This includes the successful restructuring of medical staff and rebuilding hospital leadership through team building and motivation, making her an invaluable asset to the Lifepoint Health® team.


Francine Sumner

Francine is the founder and CEO of Kid in the Corner who’s mission is to Shatter the Stigma that surrounds mental illness and to support the Kid in the corner whoever that may be. Francine is a mother of three who lost her youngest son Zach to suicide on June 13 2017, after a short battle with mental illness, In the months that followed, she knew that his story was powerful and could potentially save lives. In Sept of 2017 Kid in the Corner was born. Using their Penny Pledge approach to Shatter Stigma and normalize mental health, Kid in the Corner has reached over 30,000 people. In addition to her work at Kid in the Corner, Francine sits on the board of Mental Health America of Arizona. She was the recipient of the prestigious 2022 Phoenix Business Journal’s Outstanding Women in Business, the Arizona Capitol Times 2023 Women of Achievement as well as a recipient of a Congressional Recognition Award.
